How Is laylat al-qadr Celebrated In Ramzan? On the night of this (21st to 29th of Ramadan) it was believed that the Holy Quran was sent down from LOH-E – MEHFOOZ (the Preserved Tablet) to the earth. The Messenger of ALLAH (Blessings of Allah and peace be upon his behalf) instructed us to search for Shab-e Qadr on odd-numbered nights during the final 10 weeks of Ramzan. Also, the 21st 23rd 25th, 27th, or 29th nights of Ramadan may be Shab-e Qadr.

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah Anha has stated that Rasool Allah’s may peace and blessings be upon him. stated, “Look for Lailat-Ul-Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadhan.” (Bukhari)

Hazrat Aisha Radiallah anha declared that”As much as Rasool Allah’s Peace be upon him, he tried (Ibadat) during the final Ashra (ten-day) of Ramadhan did not test on any Ashra.” (Muslim)

How Is laylat al-qadr Celebrated

It is also known as the Qadr Night (also known as the Laylat al Qadr Night) (Arabic: Lyl@ lqdr) which is also known by English in the form of the Night of Decree Night of Power,[3 Night of Value, Night of Value, Night of Destiny, also known as the of Measures, or Night of Measures, is, according to the Islamic tradition that night on which it was believed that the Quran was first revealed from Heaven to the earth. It was also the night that those first words of the Quran were read to Muhammad. Islamic Prophet Muhammad is said as more valuable than thousand years of worshipping.[5According to numerous Muslim sources,[the exact date is not known, however, it was one of the nights that had odd numbers during the final 10 days of Ramadan which is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.

Since then, Muslims have regarded the final ten nights of Ramadan as being particularly blessed. Muslims consider that the Night of Qadr comes with blessings and mercy from God in abundance as sins are pardoned and prayers are accepted and an annual declaration is given to angels, who execute it in accordance with God’s mercy.

Hadith about Laylatul Qadr

Abu Hurayrah Rady Allahu ‘anhu (may Allah be happy with him) tells us how the prophet Sallallahu “‘Alayhi wa sallam” (Peace and blessings from Allah to him) stated:

“Whoever participates (in the prayer of nighttime that is voluntary during) Ramadan out of faith and with the expectation of reward, his prior wrongs will be cleared. Also, whoever stays up all day during Lailat Al-Qadr praying in faith and with the expectation of reward, his prior wrongs will be absolved.”

Seek forgiveness

 Rakat Salaat for Forgiveness of oneself/parents: Offer two Rakats Salat, in every Rakat recite Sura-al-Hamd, and Sura Ikhlaas seven times.
After Completion of salaat – repeat 70 Times:

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ.

astaghfiru allaha wa atubu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah and I repent before Him.

As per Allama Majlisi, the best prayer during Qadr nights is to seek forgiveness. Recite 100 times

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ رَبِّي وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ.

astaghfiru allaha rabby wa atubu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him

Ask for “Health” and “Well being” (Aafiyat) on this night as per Holy Prophet(saw). Recite

اللهم إني أَسْأَلُكَ العَفْوَ والعَافِيَةَ والمُعَافَاةَ في الدُنْيا والآخِرَة

Allhumma Inni Asaloka Al Afwa wal Afiyata , walmuafata fid-dunya wal akhira

O Allah, I ask of you well-being & forgiveness in this world & the hereafter

Remember Imam Mahdi(atfs) continuously as he is Allah(swt)’s hujjat( proof) on earth on whom angels descend. Recite Dua Faraj “Allhumma Kunle” of Imam Mahdi(ajtfs) repeatedly

Pray for Others particularly the disadvantaged and opressed

Fulfill Qaza Salaat or 100 Rakat (Sura Hamd + 10x Sura Ikhlas)

Recite Ziarat Imam Hussain(as) and Joshn Kabir and Perform Quran Amal as in the next tabs.

Imam Zainul-Abideen (a.s) used to recite this dua very frequently at the Qadr nights while sitting, standing, in rukuu’, and prostrating as narrated in Al-Kaf`amiy

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي امْسَيْتُ لَكَ عَبْداً دَاخِراً

allahumma inni amsaytu laka `abdan dakhiran

I have passed the evening as a very humble servant of Yours

لاَ امْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعاً وَلاَ ضَرّاً

la amliku linafsi naf`an wa la darran

I have no control over the gains and losses for my self

وَلاَ اصْرِفُ عَنْهَا سُوءً

wa la asrifu `anha su’an

and I cannot drive back any evil from myself.

اشْهَدُ بِذٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِي

ashhadu bidhalika `ala nafsi

I testify to this against myself.

وَاعْتَرِفُ لَكَ بِضَعْفِ قُوَّتِي وَقِلَّةِ حِيلَتِي

wa a`tarifu laka bida`fi quwwati wa qillati hilati

To You do I confess of my powerlessness and my feebleness.

فَصَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

fasalli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

So, (please do) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

وَانْجِزْ لِي مَا وَعَدْتَنِي

wa anjiz li ma wa`adtani

and fulfill what You have promised me,

وَجَمِيعَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

wa jami`a almu’minina walmu’minati

as well as all the believing men and women;

مِنَ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ فِي هٰذِهِ ٱللَّيْلَةِ

min almaghfirati fi hadhihi allaylati

that is Your forgiveness at this night,

وَاتْمِمْ عَلَيَّ مَا آتَيْتَنِي

wa atmim `alayya ma ataytani

and accomplish that which You have conferred upon me,

فَإِنِّي عَبْدُكَ ٱلْمِسكِينُ ٱلْمُسْتَكِينُ

fa’inni `abduka almiskinu almustakinu

for I am Your slave—the poor, the humble,

ٱلضَّعِيفُ ٱلْفَقِيرُ ٱلْمَهِينُ

aldda`ifu alfaqiru almahinu

the weak, the needy, and the humiliated.

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِي نَاسِياً لِذِكْرِكَ فِيمَا اوْلَيْتَنِي

allahumma la taj`alni nasiyan lidhikrika fima awlaytani

O Allah, (please) do not make me negligent of Your mention as regards that which You have bestowed upon me,

وَلاَ غَافِلاً لإِحْسَانِكَ فِيمَا اعْطَيْتَنِي

wa la ghafilan li’ihsanika fima a`taytani

do not make me inadvertent to Your favors to me as regards that which You have given me,

وَلاَ آيِساً مِنْ إِجَابَتِكَ وَإِنْ اَبْطَاتْ عَنِّي

wa la ayisan min ijabatika wa in abta’at `anni

do not make me despair of Your responding to me, even if such response is postponed,

فِي سَرَّاءَ اوْ ضَرَّاءَ

fi sarra’a aw darra’a

whether I be in prosperity, adversity,

اوْ شِدَّةٍ اوْ رَخَاءٍ

aw shiddatin aw rakha’in

hardship, comfort,

اوْ عَافِيَةٍ اوْ بَلاءٍ

aw `afiyatin aw bala’in

wellbeing, ordeal,

اوْ بُؤْسٍ اوْ نَعْمَاءَ

aw bu’sin aw na`ma’a

misery, or bliss.

إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ ٱلدُّعَاءِ

innaka sami`u alddu`a’i

Verily, You are the Hearer of prayers.
