How to Get iPhone on Installments in Pakistan

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecom (MoITT) has developed a policy to offer smartphones to citizens through installments. The policy includes measures to prevent the misuse of mobile phones by defaulters. Mobile companies have agreed to the policy, which involves blocking phones for those who fail to make their installment payments. The policy will be implemented through the Device Identification, Registration, and Blocking System (DIRBS) used for blocking unauthorized or smuggled phones. The blocking of SIM cards and CNICs may be considered as penalties in the future.

The policy will undergo legal examination and cabinet approval before being implemented by the national telecom regulator, PTA. This policy addresses concerns raised by the PTA and strengthens the regulatory framework for smartphone transactions. Additionally, progress has been slow on the Kisstpay Scheme, which aims to provide affordable smartphone ownership through installment plans.
